Search Engine Submit Scam

Scammer Security Spammer

This is a scam that we see too much of and also surprises me. These scammers must live in the ice ages of the Internet. In the starting days of the internet you used to have to submit your websites to the search engines manually or you could install a script on your server and this would submit your site to hundreds of search engines automatically. These days are long gone like the Dinosaurs. All of the search engines that I know of and this includes the malicious search engines, do not require user website submitting, however you can still find links for submitting your website on many search engine websites.

Since search engines supply content, they have been developed and designed over the years to automatically crawl the internet by IP Address, Domain Names, and follow links on websites they do find. Some of the larger search engine companies also have other features, formulas, and abilities built in to better find content and index it for search abilities as well, however this is a whole other conversation in itself.

Common Scam

Typically this scam is based through email. These thieves typically get your information through WHOIS data collection. This is where they gain email addresses and names of owners which will be used in the email to mislead you.

AT the end of my comments below I have pasted the most recent version and copy of a SCAM EMAIL. and one that we have received recently.

These thieves are obviously pretty stupid on many levels. For one this scammer tells you that your reply is requested before the 7th of Jan. and at the end where it shows payment options shows your site will be terminated on the 4th of Jan. (THESE CLAIMS THEY PRESENT ARE FALSE), Now let me continue to show even more how this is very FRAUDULENT.

Next check out the email address and name of the Sender. These email addresses typically changes a lot. They never come from the same source email address and many times come from hacked email servers or Spam Bots that send these emails. Another thing I have noticed on these types of emails is that the the reply to: address is usually different then the sender email address.

In most cases I have found the number doesn’t work and is turned off by the provider, however this time it worked so I can research more. Of course when you call you can’t talk to anyone live but you do get a message to visit a website to make your payment which is at WWW.NAMEREMIT.COM (WARNING!! DO NOT VISIT!!!).

It is typical with these scams that they also use hacked / compromised websites and servers that they link you too. This is to cover their tracks in stealing your information.

RED FLAG WARNINGS!!!!

  • Notice that the website name they want your money on and the domain that the email come from are very different.
  • When you call a number and their is no way you can talk to anyone LIVE. A Thief never wants to talk, they want to hide behind the scenes and just take your money…. This way they don’t deal with complaints and they don’t need to do refunds, they just steal and stay more hidden.
